Faculty of Business and Law, Auckland University of Technology, Auckland, New Zealand The Marketing, Advertising, Retailing, and Sales department is seeking a candidate to fill a position at the Professor or Associate Professor level.

The Department of Marketing, Advertising, Retailing, and Sales (MARS) is a large and diverse group by New Zealand University standards. We have an outstanding reputation for excellent teaching in the marketplace, offering programs at the BBus, Masters (taught and research), MBA, and PhD levels. We are developing a strong research focus and culture, with staff publishing in journals such as Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Marketing Letters, Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Industrial Marketing Management, Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, Association of Consumer Research, and many others, on a regular basis. AUT Business School is among an elite group of only 5% of business schools worldwide accredited by AACSB International. With over 6,000 students we are one of the largest providers of business education in New Zealand.

We are developing a core strength in the Consumer, Retailing, and Services area and want to appoint a senior academic to add to the leadership within the team. A relevant PhD is a requirement for appointment to this position. Candidates for associate professor should also demonstrate significant contribution to teaching, research and experience in engaging meaningfully with industry and the community. Candidates for professor should also have a distinguished record in teaching, research and demonstrable experience in engaging meaningfully with industry and the community.

Associate Professor Andrew Parsons will be available to discuss the position and potentially conduct preliminary interviews of candidates at the ACR Conference in Vancouver 4th – 7th October 2012.

Preliminary interviews may also be scheduled for a European location in October 2012.
