From the President

On behalf of the ANZMAC Executive a very warm welcome to the 2003 Annual Conference. This year’s conference is based on the theme “A Celebration of Ehrenberg and Bass: Marketing Knowledge, Discoveries and Contribution”.
You will see from the conference program and the paper abstracts that this year’s conference has been highly successful.
We are expecting 337 papers to be presented by attendees. In addition there are eight special sessions and symposia.We extend a special welcome to the attendees from outside of Australia and New Zealand. This year we have
representatives from Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Nigeria, Canada, UK and Israel.

This conference as well as the growing success of the Academy’s journal, The Australasian Marketing Journal, is evidence of both the number of people researching and teaching marketing in the region as well as the increasing amount and sophistication of scholarly research undertaken by the academic marketing community.

Finally let me extend my thanks to the Conference Committee and administration under the chair of Professor Gus Geursen. Organising a conference is a large task, which the committee and their team have performed magnificently.
